Melanie Knight

Born and raised in rural Nebraska, Melanie Knight is a wife, mom, advocate and volunteer.

Melanie attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, majoring in elementary education with an emphasis in early childhood and special education for three and a half years.  From helping establish a village library,  to promoting and performing in multiple community theatre productions, to mentoring young people through the Teammates Program, Melanie has been a long time champion of literacy, early childhood education, disability rights and the fine arts. Melanie has always had  a desire for creating a better Nebraska for all.

In the past few years as a parent of an adult child with a disability, a recent primary caregiver for an elderly parent, and an advocate for active participation in our state government, Melanie has realized that far too many voices are not being heard.

It’s time for a new and unique voice to help all Nebraskans be heard.
